I know you hate the luck concept but honestly I attribute my financial success to luck. I had great parents, I was born with an unusually agile mind suited for science and math. I coasted through school and got my chemical engineering degree without much effort. I rose from intern to running a large corporation without ever feeling like I was working hard because it was so much fun. I made a lot of money and lived frugally and became financially independent. Married a great woman and stayed married. Stayed in one house, still in it. But never felt like I sacrificed or buckled down. Raised 3 good kids. Life has been very easy and feels lucky to me.
